Cupro is a regenerated cellulosic fibre that is made from cotton linters, a by-product of the cotton harvest and consisting of fibres that are too small to spin. The manufacturing of cupro requires the use of chemicals, however they are usually kept in a closed-loop system in order to minimise the environmental harm. Cupro has similar properties to cotton yet at the same time it is soft and lustrous and is therefore often used as a vegan alternative to silk.
